Blonde Hair Dye

By

Popular culture has it that blondes have more fun. Have you ever wondered whether you would get more attention if you were a blonde? There is a safe and easy way to find out. Read this hubpage to learn about blonde hair dye.

Whenever you thinking about dyeing your hair, your first consideration should always be whether you want to get this work done at a professional hair salon. Hair salons have much more experience applying blonde hair dye than you do, and therefore a decision to go to one of them would maximize your chance of getting a good result. Hair salons are particularly helpful because an experienced hair stylist or colorist can help evaluate you for what hair color tone is perfect for you. The huge downside of hair salons is that they can be quite expensive.

If a hair salon is not for you, lucky for you there are many reputable brands of blonde hair dye. Look to reputable product lines from OKI, Manic Panic, Redken, Garnier, Revlon, L’Oreal, or Clairol. You will have no problems following the instructions on the box and there are helpful color charts to show you how to match your current colors with where you want to go.

Before you begin, figure how exactly how light you want to make your hair.  That will affect everything.  The lighter you want to go from your current hair, the harder that it will be to maintain your hair.  If your hair is dark and you want to go very light, you will probably need bleach and toner in addition to hair dye.  And the lighter you go, the sooner your roots will show.

Pairing hair color to skin tone is an art in itself.  If you go to a hair salon, your stylist or colorist can give you a professional opinion.  The box on your product can also help.  As a general rule, those with fair skin should opt for a cool blonde shade.  If you have darker skin, stay away from any blonde color with yellow undertones.  Try hair dye labeled dark golden brown or light golden brown.  For those with medium skin, you are in luck.  Pretty much any shade of blonde will work for you, except for platinum or a blonde color that has no yellow in it.

Coloring your hair at home can be a lot of fun.  Buy a couple of boxes of blonde hair dye, invite a friend over, open a bottle of wine, put on some music, and dye each others’ hair.  When you walk by, everyone will turn and look at your new blonde hair and you will get lots of compliments!
