Brown Hair Dye

By

Follow these tips of you are interested in dyeing your hair brown. There are excellent brown hair dyes that can give you a great result.

If you have chosen brown hair, you are in very good company. It is the second most common hair color. Brown hair can go from a light brown to something that is almost black. For a lot of people, using brown hair dye is just a matter of personal preference. But for some, it can substantially enhance their hair. For instance, if you have a weak mousy brown hair, use a deep brown dye in your hair and it will look much better. People with damaged hair often choose brown hair dye because it will help conceal the damage and make your hair look healthier. Moreover, brown is a great choice because it is the easiest hair color to maintain.

Before you run off and buy a brown hair dye, think about whether you shouldn’t just get this done at a hair salon. Your hair is important and they have lots of experience at dyeing hair. Because of the cost of salons, many people choose to dye their own hair. If you are of the same mind, then find yourself a quality brown hair dye and get ready to do it yourself at home.

Make sure you have a friend help you. This is especially true if it is your first time. But even for a seasoned pro, it is hard to make sure you have coated all of your hair in areas you cannot see yourself. Having a helping hand can really make this process go smoother.

There are outstanding brown hair dye products on the market.  Try Pantene Pro-V Brunette Expressions Daily Color Enhancing Shampoo, Matrix Biolage Earth Tones Natural Brown Color Refreshing Conditioner, Oscar Biandi Crema Soothing Hair Balm, Clairol, L’Oreal Preference, Aveda Black Malva Color Conditioner, or Natural Match.

One very important thing to figure out at the outset is how brown hair dye is likely to work with your hair now.  If you are a blonde, you are in luck.  You can just use brown hair dye out of the box and without the need to do any bleaching.  If you are a redhead, then it depends on what kind of redhead.  If you have bright red hair, you are going to need to bleach first because that punky color needs to be removed so that the brown does not mix with it.  Understand that the brown hair dye itself is not lightening your hair or removing any existing pigment.  It is just coating brown pigment on top of it.  If you cannot imagine your current hair looking good with brown mixed into it, chances are that you will need to bleach.

If, rather than a punky red hair, you have a more traditional darker red hair, you might be able to just use brown hair dye without pre-bleaching.  But your hair will end up being a blend of brown and red.  Do a test a strand test to make sure you like this look.  If you do not, you will need to bleach the red out first so that you can have a pure brown.

If you are just using brown hair dye to give yourself a darker or deeper shade of brown than you already have, you can use brown hair dye right out of the box for good effect.  If your hair is black, you will need to bleach before you apply brown hair dye to get a good effect.
